School Starts Sept, 17 ' Our Goal
Last Year's Syllabus/Schedule (2006)
|
________________________________________________________________________________
|
Through the year we will use a mixture of teaching, mentoring, and practical application to provide the best possible environment for growth. We believe the best way to learn is through experience and relationships. So along with the class time we use "hands on" training in ministries to develop skills that you will carry for the rest of your life.
Our purpose is to provide an environment for growth and passion for our students to strive in. Our desire is that every student will leave our school with a new understanding of the Bible, a deeper passion for Jesus, and a realization of their identity in Christ.

Bethel's School is created with the understanding that it's students have other life obligations and schedules and strives to be sensitive to these priorities. With the working, studying, and the family person in mind, the schedule has been created in hopes to include many. 2007-'08 School of Leadership offers 4 different schedules for 3 different levels of commitment. We now offer a:
Monday: 7pm – 9pm 1rst Year Theology. For part time, full time students. 2nd Year Session. Second year students only.

________________________________________________________________________
This is an opportunity for those who want to be part of the school but are limited in their schedule to commit full time. We now offer a part time curriculum that includes theology, worship session, and our guest speaker night. These are incredible meetings that are exclusively for S.O.L. students and now offered to part timers. The part time program is limited to what trips/events that they can participate. Occasionally a trip or function will be opened to part time students, but most trips/events/and functions are reserved for full time students.
Cost for the part time program is $100. a month. This covers/includes Mon & Wed meetings, all mandatory reading material, and special speaker opportunities. See Schedule.
This program is open to any one 18yrs and over (or post high school). First Year (full time) students have an incredible schedule offered this year. With new community projects, a world class guest speaker itinerary, ministry opportunities for student's specific gifting, and a new study within the area of social justice.
Cost For the first year (full time) program is $200 a month. This includes/covers 8 mandatory books (for entire year), all accommodations/cost for trips and events, and guest speakers. This program is approx. 10 hrs a week, 2 hrs of community opportunities, and trips (to be announced) See Schedule.
This program is open to those who completed our 1rst year curriculum. 2nd year students will enjoy having access to the entire schedule, benefit from guest speakers, and new worship session, but also have there own session with Cameron Ross and what ever exclusive events he has planned for 2nd year students. This program has more responsibility opportunities in specific ministries and community projects. 2nd year students will not participate in the theology course on Mondays that they have already completed. This year offers a more personal feel, with more accountability, relationship opportunities, and leadership roles. There is an emphasis on practical application and experience. Specific modules in applied theology feature significantly at every level, ensuring that you think about the way that theology relates to the contemporary world and its issues. We'll also ensure that you are involved and trained in various practical ministries. You'll have a free choice from such classic areas of ministry as teaching, house groups leading and youth work, but we'll also encourage you to step out into what may be new fields. That might be prison work, industrial chaplaincy, or evangelism amongst any demographic. Upon completion of second year curriculum the school will set up an opportunity for graduates to personally meet with leaders of organizations, ministries, etc, of their desired field. This is to introduce you to people of influence, and those who may be able to plug you into role in a ministry, network, job, etc.
Cost for the second year (full time) program is $150 a month. This includes/covers 8 mandatory books (for entire year), all accommodations/cost for trips and events, and guest speakers. This program is aprox. 10 hrs a week, 2 hrs of community opportunities, and trips (to be announced) See Schedule.
This is simply a year for completed students to launch their projects, and/or fill a role of leadership within a mentorship level of accountability with members of school's administration. These roles/positions can be found or set up outside the school (geographically). They may be leadership roles in other churches, community programs, outside projects, schools, home groups, etc. The S.O.L admin. will directly serve as a accountability resource for the 3rd year participants and is set up to journey with them. 3rd year will benefit from access to most of the full time schedule.
Cost for 3rd year students will be individually constructed.

Feed Back from five 2006 graduates
"It's becoming more and more evident that our world is looking to the younger generation to make change. Older people are looking for people with passion; younger people are looking for strength and character. Young adults are in the best strategic position for the next revelation. SOL pushes the, "To be, or not to be" generation. Equipping us with the wisdom of the elders, the strength of communion and plugging us into experience through ministry. Rise up, come alive". - Lael Miles (Moved to Arizona)
"When your destiny is empowered by the
revelation of your identity in Christ, your life changes,
your community changes, the world changes and the glory of
God is revealed through your obedience to attempt the
impossible. I appreciate S.O.L for helping me identify with
‘reality’".
"Well ,School of leadership for me was an amazing experience where I was able to have the freedom to discover who I am in Jesus, and was challenged to live out who I am while doing his work. It was a place where I grew much spiritually and put to test all that I gained so that it became not just knowledge, but a lifestyle". -Lauren Dunn (Lauren is now on staff at a church as children's director)
"The school of leadership has opened many new
doors both in my walk with God and in my personal life. It
has changed my outlook on many things for the better and it
has helped me prepare for my future. It is a great
opportunity to learn about what Christ has in store for you.
The School of Leadership was an awesome experience and I
would recommend it to anyone".
"The Bethel School of Leadership rescued me from my "Sunday Christian" attitude. I learned the theology that I needed to actually start to serve the church in the capacity that God has called me. I learned patience and the true heart of a servant. Definitely one of the best years I’ve ever had in my walk with God." -Jerry Carter (currently leading worship and leading the youth dept. at his church)
